Increase your functioning level with nutritional food supplements, make healthy food choices, and live "greener."
January 10, 2008 08:01 - Local Cheesemaker Invites You to a Tasting Party!
Crissy and Adriane of CKC Farms in Blanco will be at Real Foods Market this Friday from 1 PM to 4 PM to offer samples of Crissy's wonderful fresh and aged cheeses.
You may remember - a few years back - there was a young lady attending Blanco High School who decided she loved goats and cheese and cheesemaking.
Somehow, she convinced her folks to let her start a goat dairy on their acreage just outside Blanco (I commented to her Mom that a cheesemaking business was a really creative way to keep a teenager too busy to get into much trouble ).
Well, this young lady is now a grown-up lady, a sophomore at Texas State. Her business is going strong; she's been featured in several magazines and some major newspapers. And her cheese is still yummy!
Please come with ready taste buds and sample some local cheese at Real Foods Market on Friday afternoon, January 11. You'll be glad you did.

October 27, 2007 22:43 - Why Bill Maher Can't Be On Network TV
Though I don't see TV that much, I must admit I enjoyed Bill Maher the few times I watched his "Politically Incorrect." He seems to call it like he sees it, with no punches pulled.
In this clip, he hits on our government's relationship to Big Pharma. Take a look:
What a shame that our official "health" programs refer more to drugs and medical procedures than to good old diet and exercise.
