Delicious & Healthy Recipes
For Nourishing Meals

"Can you give me some Healthy Recipes?"

It's only natural, I suppose, having a health food store with a cafe and juice bar; we are always being asked for recipes (nutritious ones, of course).

And people want to know how we make our cafe fare taste so good ("How can it be so tasty? After all, it's healthy!).

Maybe I should be selling a cookbook instead of just giving away all that great info. Oh well, it's just in my nature to share what I know...

Here's the First Tip:

We prepare food with LOVE.

Love should always be your primary ingredient.

I don't understand enough about quantum physics to be able to explain it, I but know it to be true. You somehow impart your emotion into the food.

Guess that leaves no room in the kitchen for hostilities, huh?

Anyway, this is the place where I'll be sharing the healthy recipes from our Real Foods Cafe (except our chicken salad; that WILL be in the recipe book ).

With the way I go about preparing food, categories overlap quite a bit (for instance, my main course is almost always a salad in the warmer months).

But there has to be some sort of organization here, so we'll start with these categories (this is an experiment, after all; if something doesn't work, we'll be flexible, and make some changes).

Recipes for Healthy Snacks and Appetizers
From cocktail and dinner parties to potlucks to after-school snacks for the kids.

Hearty Recipes - Main Course
Whether you're veg or a meat-eater, the main course is usually considered to be the primary protein source.

Recipes for Salads and other Side Dishes
This is the "support nutrition" in a meal. Deeper colors mean more vitamins, and vegetables and whole grains provide needed fiber.

Wholesome Recipes for Soup
There's nothing so satisfying on a cold winter night than bowl of yummy hot soup. And cold soup is really refreshing in the summer months.

"Good-For-You" Recipes for Dessert
Yes, they really do exist.

Easy One-Pot Meal Recipes
Busy lives call for simpler preparation methods.

Cultured and Live Food Recipes
You don't have to be a "raw foodist" to enjoy these tasty menu items. And they're good for your immune and digestive systems, too.

Healthy Recipes for Smoothies and Fresh Juices
"What's the problem? Just throw it all in the blender, right?" Some combinations DO work better than others.

Nourishing Traditions
Sally Fallon's politically incorrect Recipes for Living.
